INSPIRE Scholarship is a national-level scholarship program offered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The program is aimed at encouraging talented students to pursue a career in science and research and is available to students studying at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Natural and Basic Sciences. As a consequence of increased demand, there is enormous expansion in the field of science and a wide range of opportunities for students to study and be interested in science and associated courses. The INSPIRE Internship camp is intended to introduce the nation’s bright young people to the joys of innovation and inspire them to pursue careers in science and research.

In order to create the necessary significant human resource pool for sustaining and extending the Science & Technology system and R & D base, the primary objective of INSPIRE 2024 is to introduce the youth of the nation to the activities of creative pursuit of science, attract talent to the art of science at a young age, and promote science literacy.

Applicants who are pursuing UG/PG courses in Natural/Basic sciences and are among the top rankers in any of the science entrance or Olympiad examinations are eligible for this scholarship. Inspire scholarship 2024 last date is 09 Nov 2024.

• Top 1% of class 12th students from any State/ Central Board of the current academic year 2024 are eligible to apply and students must be pursuing courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., and Int. M.Sc./M.S. level

or

• Students who got top 10000 ranks in the JEE of IIT, AIPMT, NEET and are pursuing Natural and Basic Science courses in India at the B.Sc., B.S., Int. M.Sc./M.S. levels are also eligible.

or

• National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars and International Olympiad medalists pursuing Bachelor/ Master level courses in Natural and Basic Science courses are also eligible.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS WHO HAVE PASSED CLASS XII EXAMINATION IN THE PREVIOUS YEARS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Inspire Scholarship Rewards

Under the scheme SHE, each selected candidate gets a scholarship amount valued at INR 80,000 per annum for the study of Science and Technology and pursue research as a career. Even, the scholarship is awarded of INR 20,000 to the candidates who undertake a summer research project but under some guidance of active researchers at the specified center of India. The maximum duration for which the candidate can avail of the benefits of this scholarship scheme is five years or until the course gets over.
