Saksham Scholarship Scheme For Specially Abled Student

Saksham is an MHRD Scheme being implemented by AICTE aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially-abled children to pursue Technical Education. This is an attempt to give every young student, who is otherwise specially-abled, the opportunity to study further and prepare for a successful future. The Scholarships for Degree and Diploma are transferable in the event of non-availability of eligible applicants in any Degree/Diploma level Programme. The candidate should be admitted to 1st year of Degree/Diploma course in any of the AICTE approved Institutions of the respective year through the Centralized Admission Process of the State/Central Government.

In order to encourage girls in the nation to pursue their education while not relying on their parents to pay for their tuition and other school costs, the Pragati Scholarship was established.

Financially and economically disadvantaged students are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The two main scholarship programs offered by the MHRD that empower women via technical education are the AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarships.

• Total Number of Scholarship-1000 per Annum ( 500 for Degree and 5Saksham Scholarships for Degree and Diploma are transferable in the event of nonavailability of eligible applicants in any Degree/Diploma level Programme. 
• The candidate should be admitted to 1st year of Degree/Diploma course in any of the AICTE approved Institutions of the respective year through the Centralized Admission Process of the State/Central Government.
• Specially Abled Student, having disability of not less than 40% and family income not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of a married girl, the income of parents/in-laws, whichever is higher, will be considered). 
• Candidate selection will be made on merit based on qualifying examination to peruse the respective Technical Degree/Diploma course from any AICTE approved institutions.

1. The girl candidate should be admitted to the First year of the Diploma level course OR the Second year of the Diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.

3. Family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year. A valid income certificate issued by State/ UT Government needs to be enclosed.

• Up to Two Girls per family
• Family income should be less than Rs. 8 Lakhs per Annum.
• Students Admitted in UG Degree Level Programme/ Course in AICTE Approved Institutions
• The students admitted in first year of their Degree Course OR Second year of Degree course through lateral entry (LE) in any of the AICTE approved Institution of respective year.
• Rs 50,000 per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 4 years for Degree for first year admitted students and maximum 3 years for Degree students admitted through lateral entry as lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, computer purchase, stationery, books, Equipment, Software’s purchase etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc.
• Only female students are eligible.

1. 1. Read the following instructions carefully before filling up of Renewal Application Form for Pragati/ Saksham Scholarship Scheme. 
2. Candidates can upload their correct documents by logging through their registered User ID & Password in the AICTE portal
3. The document size not more than 2MB and must be “.pdf” “.jpg” or “.jpeg” format. 
4. If documents are not getting uploaded (preview) in .jpg format, try to upload files in .png/ .pdf format. 
5. The documents must be legible. Failing which, your document will not be considered for reimbursement purposes. 
6. Before submitting a renewal application, students are advised to ensure that promotion certificate, tuition fee receipt, miscellaneous fee receipt etc. have been uploaded in the application form correctly. After submission of the application, no further request shall be entertained to upload any leftover/ additional documents in support of the claim. 
7. The last date for submission of the Pragati Scholarship application form is 30 Oct 2024. Failing this, your case will be treated as closed.
