On Sunday the the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has gone through it’s normed again just to ensure and keep an eye on the malpractices by schools and colleges over many SC/ST scholarships as postmatric scholarship programs for students belonging to SC/ST category, prematric scholarship programs for the students of SC/ST category. They want to ensure the 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships.

Centre makes 50% pass rate must for SC/ST scholarships

As per the new rules and norms, all the schools and colleges which came under the centrally sponsored postmatric scholarship program for students belonging to SC category have to make sure that 50% of the beneficiaries are pushed to higher level or else those educational institutions will get blacklisted from the scholarship schemes and will no longer be able to apply for funds.

In the previous years there had been many fraud cases by the educational institutions in which the schools and colleges have pocketed a huge amount of scholarship money under the post matric scholarship program for the scheduled caste students by showing fake admissions. The new norms set up will put an end to such malpractices under the 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships scheme by the government.

As per the new norms by the ministry compulsory payment of maintenance allowance and nonrefundable fees will directly go into the accounts of the scheduled caste students under the 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships scheme.

It has been made clear by the official of the ministry that the scholarship amount is given by the states to the institutions and maintenance rupees were given to the students. It has been observed in previous years that many private and government educational institutions were tricking and fooling students and taking money from them by charging fees from the students under 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships program.

The new norms made it more clear and brought up more transparency. There will be end-to-end processing in online mode and verification of eligibility credentials to control the malpractices such as duplication and fake claims by the educational institutions in order to bring more clearance and transparency under 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships scheme.

The official of the ministry stated that the state government and union territories will form procedures and techniques related to regular and time to time release of scholarship for students under 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships scheme so that the students belonging to scheduled caste will be able to pay their fees to the educational institutions without any delay or problem and will not be fined or get any sort of penalty for late payment or non payment of fees. The students would be able to pay their fees on time and get the best type of education from an educational institution for their higher studies.

Realised by the union ministry of social justice and empowerment, 50% pass rate for SC/ST scholarships scheme provides financial stability to the students belonging to scheduled caste category post matric or post-stage to make them able to complete their education and help the economy to increase.
