Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are:

• The student should be from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
• The student should have completed their higher secondary education with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade point average.
• The student should have a valid score on an entrance examination such as the Common Entrance Test (CET) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
• The student should be willing to contribute to the university community through extracurricular activities and community service.
• The scholarship provides a full waiver of tuition fees, hostel fees, and other academic expenses. In addition, the scholarship also covers the cost of books, study materials, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.
• The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the undergraduate program, subject to the student’s satisfactory academic performance and conduct.

About Azim Premji University & Foundation

The Foundation now invites candidates who aspire to bring positive change and development in the field of education to be a part of the Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship Program. It allows fellows not just to understand the issues facing the education system, but also allows them to tackle impending issues first hand. 

During this, 2 year period Foundation will provide opportunities to build an understanding in the area of education through teaching and capacity building through various roles in the DI. Every Fellowship participant is actively mentored and will benefit from hands-on experience of working in the field. 

Azim Premji University Financial Assistance

Fellowship candidates will be posted to rural districts of the 8 states that we work out of. Fellowship candidates are expected to be prepared to live and work in rural environments which provides important exposure to challenging living conditions of that terrain. Fellows will be posted to interior districts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Telangana. 

Candidates will be given a monthly stipend of Rs.28,800. There will be opportunities to work with the Azim Premji Foundation after the successful completion of a two-year program. You will also receive a certificate after completing this fellowship program.

Azim Premji University Scholarship is based on family income

• The annual income of student family must be less than 15 lakhs are only eligible for different scholarships.
• Accommodation and Tuition fees are provided through scholarships.

First Scholarship By Azim Premji

Azim Premji University provides scholarship to the students who are taking admission in UG courses, the scholarship will be based on the annual family income. The students whose family income bands of up to 12 lakhs per annum are eligible for the scholarship. Depending upon the criteria full or partial waiver of Tuition fee and accommodation charge will be waived. 

Second Scholarship By Azim Premji

Azim Premji University provides scholarship to the students who are taking admission in PG courses, the scholarship will be based on the annual family income. The students whose family income is less than Rs. 5 lakhs/annum are eligible for the scholarship, 50% of the total tuition fees will be waived for those students. Enhanced financial assistance may be considered for candidates with an annual family income below Rs. 2 lakhs.

Who can Apply?

The following applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarship program:  

• Should have passed or given the 12th board exams 
• Should not be older than 19 years of age as on 31 Aug 2024
• Should have scored at least 50% marks in class 12th board exams 
• Annual family income must not exceed INR 12 Lakh

The scholarships are provided to the applicants based on their financial status and disbursed in the following forms: 

Full tuition fee waiver, Accommodation, and Food charges in exceptional circumstances. 

Full or Partial waiver of Tuition fee and Accommodation charge. A partial waiver of tuition fee.100% waiver on tuition fee waiver for the 4th year.

Selection process 

Submit the online application with your resume and a recent photograph before last date. 

Candidates shortlisted based on their application will go through two stages of selection: 

Online Assessment: The test will assess applicants on their knowledge about socio-economics, geographical & political understanding, reading comprehension, descriptive writing, and analytical ability. The test will be a mix of multiple-choice and descriptive questions. 

Personal Interview: Interviews will be conducted with applicants who pass the online assessment. The candidates will be notified via e-mail and given a topic on which to prepare a 10-15 minute presentation.
