Eligibility Criteria labor card scholarship 

  • The parents of either ward must be iron or manganese and chrome ore mines, limestone and dolomite mines, cine or beedi workers with a minimum of six months of service.
  • The family income of students should not go above at least one lakh.
  • The candidate should pass the qualifying examination in the first attempt.
  • To participate in the scholarship, students have to take the regular general and technical course true engineering medical agriculture subject.
  • You have studied with another subject and if you change your subject in the future, then you will not be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who are already availing of other scholarships will not be eligible for the scholarship.
  • During the scholarship, if you change your course, your scheme will be canceled there itself.

How to apply Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers?

  • Students have to first report on the website.

Is the labour card scholarship hospitable to all candidates enrolled in Indian universities/colleges/institutes?

No. Only domiciled candidates from the North-Eastern states of India are covered under the scheme. Namely, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

Are only first-year undergraduate students eligible to apply for labour card scholarships?

Yes, only those students who have passed class 12th (CBSE board) or equivalent examination of state boards for the present year are eligible to use.

Are students enrolled privately / deemed universities (not funded by the central or state government) eligible to apply?

The labor card scholarship is applicable to the scholars of first-year undergraduate courses and enrolled within the following institutions, who are eligible to apply: –

1. Universities / Institutes / Colleges incorporated under sections 2 (f) and 12 (b) of UGC Act.
2. Universities covered under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and are eligible to receive grants from UGC.
3. Various institutions / institutes / colleges funded by the Central / government .
4. Institutes of National Importance.
5. Institutions recognized by other Statutory councils also as outside the states of NER.

What is the quantity of labour card scholarships payable to the award recipients?

The award depends on the course of study. for college kids pursuing general degree courses (BA, BSc, BCom, BMS, BBA, etc.) it is Rs. 400 / – per. for college kids pursuing professional degree courses (BE, B.Tech, MBBS, B.Pharm, etc.), and it’s Rs.800 / -pm for the whole duration of the course. The concerned university/institute/college will verify that the course of study for the candidate is normal or professional.

What is the advantage of this labour card scholarship?

If any unorganized worker subscribes to the scheme and makes regular contributions till the age of 60 years, he will get Rs. A minimum monthly pension of Rs. 3000 / -. After his death, the spouse will receive a monthly family pension which is 50% of the pension.

What will be the method of joining this labour card scholarship?

Under this scheme, customers can visit the closest Common Service Center and enroll for PM-SYM using the Aadhaar number and Savings checking account / Jan-Dhan account number on a self-certification basis.
